Designed with exploration at its core, and flecked with inspiration from Minerva pocket watches and chronographs, the Montblanc 1858 Collection is a legacy of fine watchmaking in action. For the multi-faceted wearer of fine watches, who is both explorative and sophisticated, these timepieces boast stylish features fit for any terrain.

Minerva military chronographs from the 1920s and 1930s provide the time-tested base for the quality assurance needed to make a watch of this calibre. The robust nature of these timepieces, coupled with monumental design elements such as the V-shaped bridge (the inspiration for which traces back to the Swiss surroundings of 1912) continue the 160 year legacy of Minerva’s innovative mastery.

Not only does the collection yield a rich history of fine watchmaking, but desirable craftsmanship, too. Handcrafted with the most refined codes of Haute Horlogerie in Villeret, is the calibre MB M16.29, the new-aged variant of the 17.29.

The 1858 Geosphere is a World’s Finest favourite, especially when it comes to expertly picking out the perfect timepiece for the outdoor enthusiast. Manufactured with the explorers of the day and night in mind, quality and sleek design is at the forefront of its manufacture which is underlined by steel and ceramic. The dial is marked by red dots on two turning globes that symbolise the world’s seven summits, each of which is also expertly engraved on the back of the timepiece. It goes without saying that an attention to detail is ever-present in the 1858 Collection, and as such, is an offering fit for all outdoor enthusiasts with a love for fine watchmaking explorations.

Whilst featuring all the distinctive codes of the line, the Montblanc 1858 Automatic introduces its smaller case size with pure design and high readability. Vintage-inspired, the dial is depictive of the Minerva heritage, all the while housed in a contemporary 40mm steel case with slim curved horns. That special attention to detail is rendered here again, with an image of the Mont Blanc appearing on the back of the timepiece as an elegant engraving.

Both the Geosphere and the Automatic are timepieces that have taken the legacy of Minerva and put it into a contemporary format, allowing for its rich history and classic designs to be shown off in the modern era of exploration.
